Movies, Work, Baking by Stacia
Leah, I really enjoyed your detailed post regarding old movies - will have to add some of those to my NetFlix list!
Julie, I saw Brokeback Mtn a few weeks ago and thought it was very good - that had to be a tough roll for Heath Ledger to do, but what a great job he did! Crash, too, was a wonderful movie and deserving of the Oscar.
I recently made a huge career change - I quit my management job! The first trimester was quite miserable, however I realized after leaving that perhaps the 70 hour work weeks and getting pages at 4:30 in the morning were making the morning/evening sickies worse?!? Somehow, now that I am home mostly, I feel fantastic! I am currently consulting on some medical cases for a couple of lawyers in town (I am actually qualified to be an expert witness!), and this I can do from home. I plan on working a few shifts periodically at the hospital - just enough to keep skills current and maintain my certifications. Otherwise, I am a homebody!
Today, with the 2 inches of snow on the ground, I decided to bake bread. Has anyone every used a KitchenAid mixer to knead dough? I am watching my loaf with some disappointment - it isn't rising like I expected. I kneaded it less time this time, however, I know bread can be tricky. Anyone have any secrets?
Now that I have more free time, I will post more - I promise!
