James & Courtney by Janell Rose
|James & Courtney, we are loving your messages AND now you are going to one of our favourite places in the US - at least close to it - when you said going to Monterey - Pacific Grove is right next to it - inbetween Monterey and Carmel. I am sure you will see all the area. Please walk to the Ocean by the Butterfly Park and see if you can see my little "Sea Otters." I love those little critters - could watch them for hours and I know I did watch them almost 2 hours one morning from the Sea Side walk in Pacific Grove. We have been to that area four times and really partial to Pacific Grove. Before you get to Monterey you will pass "Moss Landing," CA - it has the laboratory for the Bay Aquarium and also has the most wonderful rustic fish market where you can order whatever you want from all the "bins" of fresh sea food laid out on ice. They will cook it right there and you take to the "picnic area" dining room. Their dining room is clean, but lacking lovely decor - however, the sea food is fabulous. Jr and I found it by accident - we had stopped at the Antique Stores right beside the Highway AND we ask if there was a restaurant in the area. The lady at one of the antique stores ask if we would like to go where the "locals" eat or did we want a restaurant with more atmosphere. She directed us to the fish market - we ate there on our way down and stopped again on the way back. A year ago Eileen & Paul took Caty and Jaclyn to SF and to Monterey and they ate there twice also. We never go that direction without finding our way to that fish market. So, I hope you do try.
Terrific that you are having such a good time and we do want to tell you that we are so sorry we did not get to attend your wedding. We had just done too much and determined we were not up to making that long drive. Forgive us please. We are eagerly waiting for you to return and post wedding pictures. We have been viewing your Web Site and Courtney, you are a lovely lady, we know you made a Beautiful Bride. James after seeing you all dressed up at Stacia's wedding we know you were a handsome Groom. You two continue having a wonderful time and please see the Sea Otters for me. I want to make at least one more trip to CA just to see those Otters. I have a collection of several. Carolyn and John even brought me a big carved one from Mexico made of Ironwood.
Best Wishes to all the Family - hope you are trying to keep cool. It is "roasting" here. But, not as hot as Carolyn, Eileen and Caty had it earlier this week. They were at the Annual School Children Camp Out this week with 17 children at Caprock Canyons State Park, Carolyn said it was 107. Love to All, JR and Janell
