Mini-reunion by Jim Deming
|I would love to see everyone, but I have an annual commitment to drive for an 82 year old friend to the Birding Festival at the Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge. My friend is retired from U. S. Fish and Wildlife and volunteers each year at the festival. He can no longer make the long drive, so I drive for him and also help out where needed. The refuge staff puts us up in a guest house on the refuge and feeds us,and the spring birding is fantastic. Most years the list of species seen during the festival is around 150 to 160. The Salt Plains is on a major migration route for shorebirds.
Hope everyone has a good time. I'll be thinking of you!
