Uncle Hank by Russ and Carolyn Benton
|It was such a pleasure to be able to visit with Uncle Hank and Aunt Judy on his birthday a few months ago. We all gathered in the garden of the retirement home and the weather was just perfect. Uncle Hank seemed to have a great time and all too soon, it was time for us to leave. We helped gather all the gifts, etc. and followed Uncle Hank and Aunt Judy back to their room. Uncle Hank was directly in front of me and I can distinctly remember him humming a catchy little tune. I've thought of that moment many times and will never forget the lesson I learned from Uncle Hank. Always take time to enjoy life and keep a happy tune in your heart. So often my inner voice is shouting "Hurry! Hurry! You've got to get this done and take care of that." I've made a conscious effort to be more like Uncle Hank. I'm not saying that I have been completely successful but I'm trying. I'm sure all of you have wonderful memories of Uncle Hank and he will be greatly missed. Aunt Judy, Henry, Jeff, Cindy and Leah, we love you and if we can do anything for you, let us know.
James, thanks so much for your hospitality. Russ and I will be arriving in Tulsa on Thursday evening and would like to visit with everyone. We were wondering if anyone had made motel reservations and if so, which one?
We love you all,
Russ and Carolyn
