Spring in TX by Janell Rose
|Early last week on way to Phy. Therapy I saw beautiful trees loaded with white blooms - Yesterday, the blooms are already being replaced by leaves. Don't want Spring to come and disappear so fast. At least the Daffodils, Crocus, Iris are still in full bloom - Tulips can not be far behind. Tree buds are starting to pop. Our Spring is REALLY coming too early. In the 70's this week and today's news said we may have 83 on Thursday. Jr and I are cringing - he is concerned we are going to have another miserable summer with it getting warm so soon. Funny thing was 2 weeks ago we had a Sunday evening of mixed sleet/rain -but that is Texas.
Leah, JR REALLY has been helpful. Don't know what I would have done without him. I had to sleep propped on the sofa 3 months - you can not sleep on a bed, I could not use the recliner & operate with my right arm (only been in a bed about 3 weeks.)JR came and tucked me in every night. Thats dedication. He has just never had to cook much in the past 54 years - nor vacumn, etc. Remember we are from the old school - our generation was not trained like young couples today. Jr has really tried. (He was glad to see me out of that blasted padded brace and back to cooking.) JR is really good at cooking steaks on the grill - with my heart problem, I tend to stick to other food choices - so I have a big stack of Salmon and Tuna Tins from Costco. Therapy has not been fun -but I can not complain. I am "getting there." The Dr.had told me recovery from Rotator Cuff Surgery would take 9 to 12 months. Yest.at follow-up appt. he gave me a cortizone shot & said I went 7 months not using the muscle with a large tear because I waited so long after the fall before surgery - then another 3 mo. afterwards so I am working through 10 months of non-use. My little situaiton is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
When I think of what our Dearest Sandy has gone through - it is breaking our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her and all her Dear Family every day. Sandy and her family have been through so much in the past four years and been such an inspiration to all of us. We are so grateful that she has got to spend the time with Darling little Zoe, Griffin and now to hold little Angel Thomas. So much sadness - but precious times that were shared and will never be forgotten. You said it well Leah when you said she was the "Will Rogers" of the Rose Family. I always remember a picture of Sandy standing in Mom's kitchen at Christie. I don't know what the heck was going on but Sandy had the wildest, crazy face and stance you have ever seen And that picture is not the only one imbedded in my memory. I was thinking the other day - "I wonder if James has a copy of that picture. We really do need it put on RoseNose." This Rose Family and all the additions of In-Laws have been so blessed to be a part of so much Love and beautiful Friendship. Blessings to you all - Love you so much. JR and Janell
